I always loved the idea of juxtaposing the song with such a playful medium like animation. Then taking on imagery that reflected minstrel shows and the censored eleven cartoons that were banned for their depiction of racial stereotypes.
Idk, somehow, someway, I felt like painting golds in their mouths felt like giving these characters their flyness, dignity, and culture back.
