black image center + getty center photography residency
Black Image Center is partnering with the Getty Center to present an artist residency inspired by the upcoming exhibition "Dawoud Bey & Carrie Mae Weems: In Dialogue." 12 residents will work over the course of 5 weeks to create new work with our teaching artist, Nesanet Abegaze. This program includes a private artist lecture from both Carrie Mae Weems and Dawoud Bey. The curriculum will explore various photographic techniques and prepare participants for the culminating exhibit at Band of Vices Gallery in West Adams.
